THE WINTER TOWN

LE B D'ARCACHON LOVES THE WINTER TOWN

A famous district of Arcachon, the Winter Town is composed of a group of villas with original architecture. An architectural jewel, this complex is now classified as a historical monument.

Built in 1860 and inspired by different styles, the Winter Town is one of the most beautiful villas in Arcachon. This is why, at the time, it brought together great personalities such as Gustave Eiffel.

We love to stroll around to discover and rediscover these villas, each more impressive than the last.

A STROLL THROUGH TIME

To help you discover Arcachon better, we have concocted a walk in its beautiful Winter Town.

From this area, you will be able to stroll between the alleys to discover more than 300 exceptional villas. We recommend some of the most extravagant ones, such as Villa Teresa with its Hispano-Moorish style, Villa Toledo with its trompe l'oeil staircase or Villa Brémontier, which is a reconstruction of a Swiss chalet.

Once the visit is over, we recommend a walk in the Moorish park. It is the border between the summer town and the Winter Town and offers a splendid view of the basin. This park is a place to relax with its shady paths, benches and bandstands.

To finish our walk, we will climb to the top of the Sainte-Cécile observatory to admire one of the most beautiful views of the city.

If you are an architecture enthusiast or simply want to know more about these incredible villas, we recommend the guided tours offered by the Arcachon Tourist Office.
